- Galina, you have such a famous name. You are of noble family Gorchakov?
- Yes. We left quite a bit - now Gorchakov in St. Petersburg is not greater than 50. Although I have something come from Novosibirsk. Frankly, I do not know how my ancestors were in Siberia. My grandfather was a very worthy, though modest man. I remember how he restored the old tomes. He had a large table and a huge pair of scissors. He folded and glued tattered sheets of which were obtained over the book. That's probably why I'm with particular trepidation to the literature, I love reading.
- You graduated from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory. But, they say, came back nearly fledged musician.

- I can tell, was born in the opera, I was first brought to the opera in its infancy, because mom and dad worked there. We have top of the Novosibirsk Theatre of small balconies - both boats. I'm in this boat were planted - there was no one to instruct the child, and I'm rehearsing all the performances they sat quietly. House upbringing was strict, I washed the floors, dishes, knitting, sewing. And ever sang. Just does not shut his mouth. For ten years the opera has played for the clavier, and knew more than half of all the parties of the classical repertoire. Participated in the Mimamsa, appeared on the scene with the "peasant" and "aristocratic" Children. Yes Opera House - that is, in fact, all the memories of childhood.

- Why did you decide soloist career did not begin in his native city, and after graduating from the conservatory, went to Sverdlovsk Opera House?
- Imagine how I perceived in the Novosibirsk Opera House - I have for them will always remain a "little girl with bows." Although I already own and the family was ... Independent career is best done at the new location. For three years I worked in Sverdlovsk, very grateful to this city. Only during the first year introduced a seven operas in the lead roles. But after a while, I feel, steel stopper. One show a month - in line with other sopranos. So long, and lose the qualification. And I decided: we must leave. Actually, I was always drawn to St. Petersburg. Maybe I feel that my roots are here. Take a listen to the Mariinsky Theatre. Within two years, played there, not being in the company. And it was accepted only when I started my international career - in 1991, after she sang Renato in "Fiery Angel" by Prokofiev at London's Royal Albert Hall. I believe that I have done much to promote the Russian opera abroad. She sang of Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev ... In the 90 years the West has been a boom of Russian opera, fashion for Russian soloists. Now we have to hold - were afraid of competition: we have also very strong singers. - Because in the way of his leadership has become increasingly manifest dictatorship. I can tolerate someone's will, if it unites the creative team. But if you feel that this dictatorship for the dictatorship in me wakes up the protest. And I left. It was very hard. But I'm glad that such a test I was sent. Now dot the "i" apart.

- No. Of course, I now have to work a few less. But I passed the stage when singing - a kind of drug. Career turned into a quieter phase. I can not afford to sometimes just lie on the couch. Enough already, on several lives next arrivals. Three times went around the globe ...

- Fans went to the Mariinsky Theatre specifically to listen to you. Today, when you left the Mariinsky Theatre, not whether your fans departed?

You just have to actively search for the natural talents and nurture them more carefully. And in college you apply to the standard teaching methods, and even different teachers are pulling in different directions. - Most of the concerts you perform arias of Italian repertoire. They like you more?
-In his youth - when the soul is hot, when passions are torn to shreds - the Italian opera was everything to me. With age, the fire fades slightly, but start to appreciate the elegance of the melody. Then, more like French music - sweet, "jelly", but not as impulsive and passionate, as the Italian. And now I'm in love with Spanish music. It resembles a Russian - the same dramatic, rich, "thick".

- Your son is already 18 years old. He is a student Conservatory. Hope that you will repeat the bright path?
- I can not say on his account. It has a separate life. And nothing is going to impose it. One is sure: he is very gifted as a musician.
- The spectators, coming to the show, hear and see the wonderful result of creative work: a great song, beautiful costumes, spectacular scenery ... And that, after the curtain closes? Happy is a star in your daily life? A lot of it have, for example, friends?
- Real friends, not much happens, and the famous actor even more. And not even you yourself, as people start to keep their distance. As you stop seeing the person, accept only hung on your well-wishers and ill-wishers labels. Why do phrases, and "star", "diva" - no more than labels. A person acquires a legend, gossip, and is involved in the intrigues of which he has no idea. It appears in a bubble ...
- Speaking of stars ... You performed with Placido Domingo. He is a good partner?
- How do you say. We have, for example, was such a scene: I'm on my knees, and he is at this moment with all the forces pressing my hand on my shoulder - it's easier to take a long note. - And you would not want to create their own opera school?
- No. I'm too serious to treat it. The real personality can educate only if the teacher works with a student constantly, listens as he rehearses, helps to select the repertoire, with him thinking about music. This is a huge responsibility.
